Why I Decided to Share What I'm Learning

I'm 55, I'm learning AI, and lately I've found myself paying a lot more attention to how other people are using it.

While watching YouTube videos and looking at AI-generated graphics across different platforms, I started noticing something.

The images weren't necessarily the same, but sometimes the style, effect, lighting, or overall look felt familiar.

And me being me, I had questions. 😂

What are they telling AI to get that look?

Is there a certain word for it? A keyword? A photography term? A short phrase that tells AI, “This is the type of image I'm trying to create,” without me writing a whole paragraph trying to explain what's already in my head?

It reminded me of something I see on YouTube all the time.

Someone can watch another creator's video, become inspired by the concept, and then create something completely different using their own personality, experience, voice, and perspective.

The idea may inspire you, but the final creation becomes your own.

That's what I wanted to understand about AI-generated visuals.

I didn't want to copy somebody else's image. I wanted to understand what created the style so I could take that knowledge and create something that fit my vision.

That curiosity sent me down another AI rabbit hole.

I've been learning about prompts, visual keywords, photography terminology, lighting, image effects, and even how a couple of carefully chosen words can change what AI creates.

And I decided—why keep what I'm learning to myself?

So, welcome to How I Use AI at 55.

I'm not coming to you as an AI guru. I'm learning, experimenting, asking questions, getting some great results, getting some “Nope, try that again” results 😂, and sharing what I discover along the way.
