It's NEVER Too Late
There comes a point in life where things finally get quiet enough for you to hear yourself. After years of showing up for others—supporting, helping, always being there—you begin to notice something uncomfortable but real: not everyone shows up for you the same way. That realization can hit hard, especially when you remember the times you were there for them, when they couldn’t take care of themselves, when they needed support and you didn’t hesitate. But my Friend, let's focus here. Being 55, I had to realize, this season of my life isn’t about chasing people or holding on to one-sided relationships. It’s about choosing alignment. It's about creating platforms that are providing hospitality, personal experiences, and motivation.
Instead of pouring your energy into people who don’t make time for you, let's make it a goal that we're not going to wallow in getting older because it's nothing that we can do about it. We might as well enjoy the process. Yes! Checking out some local clubs, or monthly game nights, aerobics, and swimming. Getting our small business started, like starting a juice bar, thrift shop, coffee and conversation cafe, or craft store that sells handmade crafts and tools we need to complete these crafts. Let's start gravitating toward those who naturally do—people who share your interests, support your growth, and feel easy to be around. People who see you, not just when it’s convenient, but because they value you. And sometimes, the best way to find those people isn’t by searching harder—it’s by becoming more visible in spaces that reflect who you are now.
This is where many women hesitate. Thoughts like “I’m too old to start something new” or “Who would even listen to me?” start to creep in. But the truth is, your life experience is your advantage. Platforms like YouTube are not just for the young or the polished—they are for real people with real stories. In fact, according to tools like VidIQ, content centered around life experience, personal growth, and real-life journeys has low competition and steady interest. That means there is space for your voice.
Starting something like a YouTube channel, even at this stage in life, can open doors you didn’t expect. I watch and subscribe to channels with older creators, because it takes motivation and even in the times of uncertainty, I admire those who just go for it! I plan on doing the same very soon, once I get my publishing business to where I want it. Not perfect, just fully established. This means, learning how to create the websites, and building the websites. Yes, I have six! I use the tool of AI, and my brain with my ChatGPT's and off we go!

It allows you to share your story, connect with like-minded people, build a community, and even create a small business. You don’t need to be perfect or have everything figured out—you just need to be willing to start. When you begin showing up as yourself, you naturally attract people who understand you, relate to you, and appreciate you. Those are your people.
So instead of continuing to give your time and energy to spaces where you feel overlooked, start creating spaces where you feel seen. It’s not too late to try something new. It’s not too late to build meaningful connections. It’s not too late to shift your life in a different direction. It’s simply time to move differently—and this time, to choose yourself.
